B aby A nniversary Cele b rate Histor y Christmas lolita event     On Saturday the 15th of December, I attended the Baby, the Stars Shine Bright "Baby Anniversary celebrate history" event. The event was pretty similar to what I had attended before (I've written a previous blog about what happens at a brand event, so I'm not going to go into too much detail about what happened). About twelve months ago BtSSB designers came to Sendai for an anniversary event. So I got to meet the designers for the second time.     It was the usual scenario, we got to ask the designers questions, eat a nice meal consisting of Christmas themed desserts and all you can drink beverages. There was also a raffle to win brand, and a display of what new dresses and accessories that are going to be available for reservation. Then after the event at the cafe finished, we walked over to the BtSSB shop to make purchases, and use an event space at the department store that was

Harajuku Fashion Walk Hey everyone, I'm back with another long awaited post. To allow me to indulge in my Lolita fashion to the fullest, I have made an effort to travel to Tokyo and participate in the Harajuku Fashion Walk (HFW). These walks usually happen on the fourth Sunday of every month, starting at 2 pm. In summer, they start at 4pm. You can confirm dates and times in this link here https://twitter.com/harajuku_fw?lang=en , incase they are subject to change. I participted in my first ever  HFW in April this year. The weather was lovely, it was spring and there were cherry blossoms blooming everywhere. I arrived at the Takeshita dori entrance, feeling very nervous and did not know what to expect. As I waited, people in Harajuku fashion began to gradually trickle in and eager for the walk to begin. The walk is organized and run by fashionista, Junnyan. Junnyan is the face of the HFW with the quest to keep Harajuku fashion alive. He dedicates his Sundays leading the walk,

Being a plus size Lolita   Hello, it is me again, this time back with another story of my Lolita life. I will be discussing the life of a plus size Lolita, the struggles I have faced. Back in 2012, I started my quest for Lolita and met my future of wearing the fashion at my local convention. I went to my first ever Lolita fashion panel. While I was sitting there, listening to the speakers, I was completely mesmerized by what I  saw. I also seen this as an opportunity to met new friends and and finally found something to express myself how I wanted. After the con had finished for the day, I went home and began to research how I could get my hands on this stuff. Then, I was hit with a problem...........most of these pretty, frilly, lacey dresses were made for people skinnier than I. However, I did not let that stop me. After some Google searching, I found a website that did custom sizing. Little did I know, the site I brought my first dress from was known for making fakes. But,

My experiences as a Lolita in Japan What happens at Lolita brand events? In my last post, I wrote from a foreigners perspective of what it is like to be a Lolita in Japan. I also briefly mentioned about going to, and participating in Lolita brand events. So you're probably thinking, what exactly happens at these events? Well, I'm going to tell you! Usually these events require you to purchase an item from the brand's store usually $35.00 value or above, in order for you to purchase a ticket at around $15.00. It's a bit expensive, however these events are popular, and therefore require you to purchase a ticket in order to secure a spot. Seems pretty reasonable........right? This was the ticket to the very first BTSSB event!                                            Anyway, once the events rolled around, I would meticulously put the best effort ever into my coord and also my make up, as the Japanese Lolitas put a lot of effort into getting ready. My experiences as a Lolita in Japan A foreigners perspective Hi all, I'm back with another post. I hope that you enjoyed reading my last post. So, here I am back with another Lolita fashion story. This time, I will be writing about my experience as a foreign Lolita living in Japan, and the lolita fashion community. I come to Japan in the summer of 2016 (Northern hemisphere), to work as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT). This meant I was moving to Japan to full fill my dream of living and working in Japan. It also meant up- rooting my life in Australia, leaving my friends and family behind, to start a new life in a foreign land. But one of the things I was going to miss the most was my small Lolita community. When I was in Australia, I would look forward to getting all dressed up to meet my community, and to participate in the activities we were doing. However, in Japan, there are no such communities, especially where I live in Japan. I live in a city in the Tohoku region

Harajuku Fashion Finding myself in Lolita Fashion Hello and welcome to my first blog entry. It has taken me a while to think of what to write about......However, I thought I would start my first entry off with my love of Lolita fashion. You may ask, what is lolita fashion?? Lolita fashion is Japanese street fashion, found on the streets of Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan. It is heavily influenced by the Victorian/ Rocco era clothing from Europe. Lolita fashion is adorned with lace, patterns, and prints. It is also available in a variety of colours, cuts and styles ready for the lolita enthusiast to get their hands on. So, that's a brief description in a nut shell. So, how did this fashion change my life??? Well, it was the year 2012 and I recently broke up with my boyfriend at the time. I saw this as a chance to re-invent myself and put my life back on track. I went to my local Pop culture convention, and went to a panel on Lolita fashion. They had girls from the local lolita communi
